NaturalIngredients, Ingredients, Ingredients…

In our soaps we use Kaolin. Kaolin is a natural clay that is rich in minerals that detoxify the skin and balance sebum production, making it a prime quality ingredient for sensitive skins.

We also use activated organic charcoal made from coconut shells which is found to relieve acne, insect bites and skin infections, and is becoming more and more popular in the organic-conscious parts of the skin care industry.

Lastly Sodium Lactate is one of the epidermis’ own so-called natural moisture factors (NMF): a substance that binds moisture to the skin. Out of all the skin’s NMFs, sodium lactate is one of the most effective moisturizing ingredients that can be used in natural skin care. Sodium lactate is also a good pH-stabilizing ingredient which in combination with lactic acid maintains the pH value of our products to a constant during use.

The combination with lactic acid also creates an extra moisture-retaining synergy effect. Sodium lactate additional utility in skin care products is due to its antibacterial properties which are always welcome.

I am most excited about using these ingredients knowing they are safe above all else, learning about things like these make soap making a wonderful adventure to embark on 🙂 I can only imagine what other discoveries this journey will bring to our soap making efforts!
